EDME Trains to Gain
Enrolment for both NVQ level 2 and level 3 in Food Manufacture has recently taken place, with 19 EDME employees participating in this year’s scheme.
The company scheme, overseen by our QA manager Eve Wade, was implemented to reinforce our in-house training programmes with special emphasis being placed on both food safety and health and safety. The NVQ’s are work related and are designed to assess competence in the skills needed to complete daily work tasks safely and effectively. EDME are keen to invest in staff training across the site and regularly review the skills of the workforce and the training opportunities available.
To date, seven employees attained NVQ level one in Food Manufacture, nine have attained both levels one and two and the first shift supervisor to participate attained level three.
NVQ’s in information technology (ITQ) are also currently being undertaken by administration staff across the site.
